While every article is special in its own way, there are a few that really top my list as ones I’m most proud of.
1. How And Why The M16 Failed In Vietnam (And Is It Reliable Today?)
This was one of my longest articles to date, it also required by far the most research both for the copy and for the images used.
Diving deep into the history of the M16 and the controversy around its adoption was as interesting as it was infuriating. But what sticks with me the most are the hundreds of pictures of the Vietnam war that I sorted through to find the ones I used in the article.
Those scenes of devastation, natural beauty marred by napalm, and the war-weary faces of G.I.s and Viet-Cong alike kept me up at night.
2. Bug Out Bag List [Ultimate Guide]
A project that took waaay too long to finish, and was as much of a slog through the commercial mechanics of writing an article as it was research to find the best of the best.
In the end, it’s a great master guide to all things bug out bag.
3. Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro: PRS Worthy?
While the review is actually pretty negative, this was an awesome collaboration with the PewPewTactical YouTube team that I believe came out really well and resonated with readers and viewers alike.
It was also the first time I recorded a voice-over, so that was fun.
4. Best 3x Magnifiers Under $200 [Real Views]
A lot of shooting and a lot of testing went into this project, more than normal. It was also a lot of work getting the pictures just right.
5. Cimarron Frontier & Pietta 1873: [Cowboy Gun Reviews]
One of the most fun reviews I’ve written, both of these firearms were just a blast to shoot!
6. JAE-700 G4 Chassis: The King Is Back [Hands-On Review]
A wonderful chassis that feels like a work of art, it was a lot of fun and a real joy to work with MDT and JAE on this review. Special thanks to JAE for painting it green for me!
